Manufacturing capability
The press shop is where Gupta Enterprises started in 2004, and it is still the core of the business. Thirty-five power presses spanning 20 to 250 tonnes mean a precision clip and a heavy structural draw part can run on the same floor, in the same week, under the same quality system — so you are not re-sourcing a programme when volumes ramp.
Our press line is deliberately broad rather than deep in any one tonnage. Ten 50-tonne presses handle the mid-range volume work that makes up most automotive bracket and panel demand; six 150-tonne and four 250-tonne machines take on heavier forming and draw operations; and five 20-tonne presses run small precision parts economically.
The practical benefit is continuity. A part that starts as a 500-piece trial batch does not need a new supplier when it becomes a 50,000-piece annual call-off. Same shop, same tooling, same inspection records.
Press capacity is easy to buy. Tooling that holds tolerance across a production run is not. Since 2010 we have designed, built and maintained our own progressive dies, deep-draw tools and trim dies in an in-house tool room.
This changes what we can commit to. When a die needs a radius adjustment or a punch replaced, it moves twenty metres to the tool room instead of onto a lorry. Revisions take days. A tooling problem never sits in an outside vendor's queue behind their other customers.
Progressive die work for higher-volume brackets, clips and retainers; single-stage and transfer forming for larger panels; and multi-stage deep drawing for cups, shells and housings on the 250-tonne H-frame presses.
Blanks come either from the die itself or from our laser, which is often the faster route for a first production batch while a progressive tool is still being built.
